In Depth

A full-day programme for groups seeking more time for the history of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the surviving places and participants’ questions.

A one-day study visit: 6 or 8 hours

The programme goes beyond the essential overview and allows more time to examine the development of the camp complex, the prisoner system, forced labour and the fates of the different groups persecuted and murdered at Auschwitz.

Depending on the confirmed scope, it may cover resistance, medical experiments, the deportation and murder of European Jews, the Sonderkommando, the crematoria and gas chambers, and the final phase of the camp’s existence.

The longer format provides more space for historical context, questions and considered educational work at Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau.

Groups with a strong interest in history, students, researchers, educators and groups seeking a comprehensive one-day programme.

The order of the blocks, break, access to buildings and exact themes require individual arrangements and confirmation under the Museum’s current offer.

  • Duration: 6 or 8 hours
  • Locations: Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau
