Auschwitz. The Logistics
A standalone thematic option on the Museum grounds, with its duration and detailed programme tailored to the group.
A standard or study visit focused on a selected subject
How was Auschwitz created and how did the largest Nazi German concentration camp complex function? This tour looks at Auschwitz from an organisational and logistical perspective: deportation transports, prisoner registration and records, selections, accommodation, food supplies, forced labour, camp infrastructure and the SS administrative system.
We will examine how an extensive infrastructure and a highly organised administrative apparatus enabled Auschwitz to function as a concentration camp, a site of mass murder and a vast centre of forced labour.
A story of how the Auschwitz system worked: from the arrival of a transport to the daily functioning of the camp.
