Forced labour and the industrial subcamp system
This preliminary outline introduces three places connected with Auschwitz industrial subcamps. The guide arranges the actual route, access to surviving sites and educational scope.
This is a thematic outline, not a ready-made navigation route. Some surviving sites lie outside regular visitor infrastructure.
Monowitz / Buna
The largest industrial centre in the Auschwitz system, linked to the construction of the IG Farben plant and mass forced labour by prisoners.
Bobrek
A subcamp at a factory where prisoners produced components of electrical equipment for the German war industry.
Jawischowitz / Jawiszowice
One of the largest Auschwitz subcamps, where prisoners were forced to work underground in mines around Brzeszcze and Jawiszowice.
