Beyond Auschwitz
The programme leads to places beyond Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau that help present the camp complex as part of a larger system and regional landscape.
The wider historical landscape of Auschwitz and its surroundings
An individually prepared scope may include places connected with the expansion of the complex, the German occupation, forced labour, prisoner transports, local administration and the lives of civilians living alongside the camp.
Each point adds context and shows that the history of Auschwitz did not end at the boundaries of today’s Museum.
The particular sites, order, access and transport logistics are confirmed for each group.
Returning groups, history enthusiasts, researchers, educators and groups seeking a broader geographical context.
This option is organised independently of the Museum. The outline is neither a navigation map nor a confirmed programme for a particular visit.
- Duration: 3.5, 6 or 8 hours
- Format: individually designed route beyond the Museum
- Focus: the regional context of the Auschwitz complex

The current site provides a preliminary, source-based outline. A full application and audio guide remain a future bonus requiring a separate scope, sources and historical review.
